The advent of tea also proliferates many accessories, which further expands upon the tea making experience. Or perhaps the necessity of capable accessories, to ensure tea can be made fast-rapid, while still maintaining quality of taste and nutritional value. From the practical to the peculiar, the right additions for specific tea making goals can add ease with reusability. The following list is by no means complete, but a starting point into discovering many beneficial tea accessories and adornments.
Infusers
The tea infuser is also known as a teaball, a strainer or tea maker in various shapes and sizes. You can also think of an infuser as a reusable tea bag. Infusers are generally loaded with loose leaf tea and steeped into hot water, dispersing the leaf contents into the water. The infuser has a mesh cage with small holes, so the larger sediments are kept at bay. These strainers for tea making are generally constructed of stainless steel. The infuser usually has a chain rope to dangle and bobble the mesh cage, especially when in use.
Tea Mug with Infuser
Not just any hand held tea mug, but with a built-in infuser. The device is ingeniously simple. The top half (or more) of the mug consists of a mesh cage where you place tea contents, such as a bag (or two for cold brewing) or loose leaf, or even (certain) boiled root(s). Then, hot or cool water is poured down into the mesh, which filters through to fill the rest of the mug. From then on, the mug can be set out or placed in the fridge for a while to make a passive tea. Of course, and with the lid on, you can carefully and gently shake the mug to hustle the tea contents around. The same device also exists in larger sizes.
Reusable Silicone Tea Bags
This begs a question. Why use an assortment of reusable silicone (or comparable material) tea bags versus a sturdy stainless steel infuser? The silicone bags usually come in a group, do not cost much and are color coded. This can be highly useful for organization if you are involved in a lot of tea making, making use of a variety of tea flavors.
